The Wall Street Journal recently ran an article that made a point of accentuating just how overbearing and ridiculous the Medicare system has become. I’ve attached a link to it below. After you’ve read the article, please log on to the billing codes database (link included in article) and peruse all of the new options. While these new codes are initially quite humorous, particularly in random combinations, the net is enough to make you want to cry. Just imagine how your work flow will change with additional denials and rejections.

From a more serious clinical perspective it represents a seven fold increase in new medical billing codes.
Following the article are some initial responses to ICD-10 from the people who will have to deal with it day in and day out. If nothing else, the article and responses should provide a greater understanding of what doctors put up with on a day-to-day basis.
